The 8 Basic Strokes
Every single Chinese character is composed of different strokes. We will teach the 8 basic strokes and break them down separately so that you can learn how to brush them individually. Learning the 8 basic strokes is the most important thing.
Composition
We will cover the basics rules of composition and we’ll discuss what makes calligraphy aesthetically good and appealing.
Writing Styles
There are different styles of writing in Chinese calligraphy. You will learn how they differ from each other and how learning the basics first will set you up to learn the other complex styles
Lucky Sayings in Chinese
We will teach you how to write some of the most popular lucky sayings and phrases used during the Chinese New Year. We can also show to write other Chinese culture-related words at the event.

10-50 people: $500-600 (2-hour)
50+ people: $600-700 (2-hour)
In-Person Calligraphy Event Fees
1-10 people: $375-575 (2-hour)

We’ve hosted more than a dozen in-person calligraphy events in New York City with an average of 50 attendees. Over the past four years, we’ve also worked with many New York-based companies and participate in their lunar New Year celebration events.
Our Chinese Calligraphy Instructor
Shaoting Lin will be the Chinese calligraphy instructor. Originally from China, Shaoting is an award-winning calligrapher who has rich experience in teaching calligraphy and Mandarin Chinese.
