What Is International Baccalaureate Chinese Course?
IB, or International Baccalaureate, is not a national curriculum in any country but is widely used in the whole world, especially in international schools.
IB Chinese (Language B) is a two-year program that follows guidelines from the International Baccalaureate. The course exposes students to a variety of topics and enhances students’ language proficiency through receptive, productive, and interactive assessments.
What Is IB Chinese I?
IB Chinese I is the first year in the IB Chinese (Language B) program. IB Chinese appropriate textbooks will be used in class, and authentic materials are encouraged in an IB language classroom. The ultimate goal is to help students use Chinese in real-life situations, cultivate lifelong Chinese language learning habits, and appreciate their own cultures and Chinese cultures. Cultural activities are usually offered in an IB school.
What Are the Components in the IB Chinese Exam?
IB examination has an external (written) and an internal (oral) component. The written component represents 70% of the grade and the oral component 30%.
